Connecting multiple Booking.com rooms to one BedBooking room

Due to potential issues caused by linking multiple rooms in BedBooking to a single listing in Booking.com, this option is no longer available. Currently, rooms can only be connected in a 1:1 configuration.

Why this change?

The main reason is the risk of cancelling existing reservations in BedBooking.

When using a many-to-one configuration, Booking.com sees availability across all connected rooms simultaneously, without distinguishing between individual units.
This can result in a situation where three separate days (each available in a different room) are interpreted as a three-night stay in a single room.

When such a reservation is imported into BedBooking, it is assigned to the room available on the first day, and the system shifts the existing booking in that room, leading to its cancellation.

Example:

If these three rooms are linked to one listing in the Booking.com Extranet, the system sees availability from 9-12.
Once the reservation is made, it will be assigned to the first room, canceling the booking marked with letter A:

This is why we introduced changes in the channel manager that prevent connecting multiple BedBooking rooms to one Booking.com room.

Recommended solutions

Create separate rooms in the Booking.com Extranet - each room in BedBooking should have its own counterpart.

Room capacity mismatch

The issue may also be caused by differences in room capacity between BedBooking and Booking.com.
To ensure synchronization works correctly, the number of guests must match on both platforms.

Examples:

  • If a room is set to 4 guests in BedBooking, it must also be 4 guests in Booking.com.

  • If a room is set to 12 guests in Booking.com, it must also be 12 guests in BedBooking.

Adjust the capacity settings in BedBooking to match those in Booking.com.
