What is the difference between cancelled and deleted reservations?

In BedBooking, we distinguish between two types of reservations removed from the calendar: cancelled reservations and deleted reservations. Their status and availability in the app differ significantly.

Cancelled reservations

  • Reservations that have been cancelled (i.e., their status has been changed to Cancelled) are still available in the system.
  • You can find them in the Cancelled tab within the reservation view (Reservation List).
  • It is possible to search, view, and restore them to the calendar by simply changing their status to another one (e.g., Fully paid).
  • Cancelled reservations can be useful when you want to keep the reservation history or if a customer decides to rebook.

Deleted reservations

Deleted reservations (i.e., those removed from the system) are no longer available:

  • they do not appear in any list,

  • they cannot be found through search,

  • they cannot be restored to the calendar.

IMPORTANT

If you delete a reservation by mistake, there is no way to recover it. That’s why we always recommend using the cancellation option if there is any chance the reservation might be restored later.

📌 To ensure data safety and maintain control over reservation history, we suggest cancelling rather than deleting a reservation unless you are absolutely certain about permanently removing it.
