iCalendar - What can I do to continue using the connection?

You may already be using the new iCalendar connection - that's great!

On January 24, 2023, we will disable the ability to use the old connection through iCalendar, so if you are still using it - it's high time to realize the potential of its new version.

Here's what you need to do in the BedBooking app:

1. Log in to the BedBooking BedBooking - Booking calendar app and reservation system.
2. Go to the iCalendar connection wizard of BedBooking - Booking calendar app and reservation system.
3. Under the Export tab, read/copy a unique link for each room in BedBooking.
   

Here's what you need to do in a sales portal:

1. Log in to your sales portal account.
2. According to the portal's instructions, go to the calendar import function:
   - Booking.com: Syncing your Booking.com calendar to third-party calendars
   - Airbnb: Syncing your Airbnb calendar with other calendars - Airbnb Help Center
   - VRBO: Import a calendar to sync with your reservation calendar | Help
   - Expedia: Help and support
3. Remove iCal link referring to Google Calendar, e.g.: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/c_b8252b12ef6676fed3b66e5afd42b9d64f79a2d967d631a82d4fd3ab93eaf6fcb%40group.calendar.google.com/private-97d80e7b44f9a7b005746ca8f7c8ec69/basic.ics
4. Insert iCal link referring to BedBooking (paste), e.g.: https://api.bed-booking.com/ical/get/id/377558/key/fbcf5cc86ab716880bfaa8478a91941d4957e42b.ics
5. Repeat the activity for each room and sales portal.

Here's what you can do in Google Calendar (optional):

Performing the following actions is not required. Nevertheless, in keeping with security hygiene and maintaining "relative order" in your Google account, we encourage you to perform them as a matter of good practice.

1. Sign in to your Google account https://myaccount.google.com/
2. Go to: Data and privacy → Data of apps and services you use → Apps that have access to your account
   
   
   
   
3. Select the BedBooking app from the list and use the Block Access button. Confirm that access has been revoked.
   
   
   
   
4. Go to Google Calendar app calendar https://calendar.google.com/
5. Delete room calendars that have been used for synchronization according to the instructions Delete or unsubscribe from a calendar - Computer - Google Calendar Help.

Consequences for the user in inactivity

In the absence of a transition from the old iCalendar 1.0 connection with Google Calendar to the new iCalendar 2.0, on 24th Jan 2023, room availability will no longer be updated in the sales portals. As a result, the host will be exposed to overbooking (two reservations for the same room, on the same date).
