If you connect several rooms in one type of room on the Booking.com Extranet, you will allow clients to make reservations for available dates for a room type on the Extranet (group of rooms).
This means that a hotel guest can make a reservation which will be composed of the dates available in several rooms.
On the Booking.com Extranet, 3 rooms (Room 1, Room 2, Room 3) have been connected in 1 room type (resource).
Room 1 is available from 10 to 11 May.
Room 2 is available from 11 to 12 May.
Room 3 is available from 12 to 13 May.
The dates available in this type of room (3 rooms) enable us to make various reservation lengths for customers:
One day reservation:
Room 1 (from 10 to 11 May).
Room 2 (from 11 to 12 May).
Room 3 (from 12 to 13 May).
Two day reservation:
Room 1 (from 10 to 11 May) + Room 2 (from 11 to 13 May)
Room 2 (from 11 to 12 May) + Room 3 (from 12 to 13 May)
Three day reservation:
Room 1 (from 10 to 11 May) + Room 2 (from 11 to 12 May) + Room 3 (from 12 to 13 May)
If a client makes a reservation for a date that will affect more than one room, the reservation may be cancelled on BedBooking) after this reservation has been sent from the Extranet to BedBooking. This is a result of the fact that rooms are grouped according to room type only on the Booking.com Extranet. On BedBooking, every room is treated separately (as is the case on Airbnb.com).
How can I resolve this problem?
We recommend considering two variants:
Optimal solution:
Don't group rooms in one room type on the Booking.com Extranet. Add every room on the Booking.com Extranet separately. Instead of one room type, you will see three single rooms (as is the case on Airbnb). Connect rooms on BedBooking in such a way that every BedBooking room would be allocated only one room on Booking.com.
Acceptable solution:
1. On BedBooking, connect only one BedBooking room with one room from Booking.com (even if you have more rooms of the same type available on BedBooking).
2. On BedBooking, transfer reservations from a room connected with Booking.com to other rooms (that are available) and not connected with Booking.com. As a result, your room on Booking.com will be available to rent again (increased availability from 0 to 1).
