Before learning about the types of Booking.com pricing models, it is worth explaining what pricing models are and what are rate plans on Booking.com. Booking.com rate plans are offers from your property that have different rules and usually offer accommodation in the same room and period at different prices. Examples of price plans may be a non-refundable offer, a refundable offer, a breakfast offer or, for example, a self-catering offer. Each Booking.com rate plan is based on the Booking.com pricing model. Pricing models are pricing strategies or ways of managing prices in pricing plans. For example, you can agree that you will offer accommodation at the same price regardless of the number of people in the room, or on the contrary, you can agree that the price will depend on the number of people in the room.
When connecting Booking.com with BedBooking, the pricing model is automatically detected and the BedBooking Price list displays the prices of a given Booking.com rate plan according to its model. This means that when connecting Booking.com with BedBooking, you don't have to worry about which pricing model you use. BedBooking supports the 3 most popular and most frequently used pricing models:
Standard pricing model
In the Standard model, you set nightly rates that are not dependent on the number of people in the room. Regardless of whether one person or four people book, the price remains the same.
Occupancy-Based Pricing model (OBP)
The OBP model allows you to set separate rates for each occupancy and each night. You have complete freedom in setting prices per night.
Derived Pricing model
The Derived Pricing model is based on “Occupancy-based pricing rules”. All you need to do is select the number of people called “Standard occupancy” and then select the percentage or amount difference for the remaining number of people. When determining the nightly rates for "Standard occupancy", the rates for other occupancies are calculated in accordance with the "Occupancy-based pricing rules".
It's worth remembering that the “Commission and availability” function was created to automate the management of each of these pricing models. After enabling this function, all you need to do is manage BedBooking prices. Booking.com prices, regardless of the pricing model, will be automatically converted.
